WESTERVILLE -- On Monday, the 10 members of the Ohio Athletic Conference gathered at Otterbein University for the league's annual Clyde Lamb Award banquet. The award, seen as the league's top honor, is presented to a male and female student-athlete at each school in the conference. Volleyball player Sarah Oney and men's basketball player Dylan Woods were selected as Heidelberg's recipients.
Oney, a three-time All-OAC performer and 2021 Libero of the Year, is a primary education major from North Fairfield, Ohio. She wrapped up her career with 1,681 digs and was a three-time captain. She earned several academic awards and was a founding member of Heidelberg's Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
Woods, also a three-time team captain, is one of two players in Heidelberg history to earn All-OAC honors four times. The Cincinnati native leaves Heidelberg with 1,202 career points (15th all-time), 235 assists (10th all-time), a bachelor's degree in criminology and an MBA.
Dr. Traci Stark (pictured, center), professor of psychology and Heidelberg's Faculty Athletics Representative to the OAC, was on hand to present the awards to Sarah and Dylan. Their respective coaches, Jason Miller and Andy Bucheit, also attended the awards banquet.
In his role as chair of the OAC Presidents, Heidelberg's Dr. Rob Huntington provided remarks at the banquet, which was held in person for the first time since 2019 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
