AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- For the second time this season, Heidelberg University track and field athletes, Dan Stoll and Ariana Coleman were selected as OAC Athletes of the Week.
Stoll was named the male runner of the week, while Coleman was tabbed as the female field athlete of the week for the second time in five voting cycles thus far during the 2019-20 indoor season.
Both Stoll and Coleman eclipsed program records this past weekend at the NCAC-HCAC-OAC Challenge hosted by Wittenberg University, and Coleman even established a facility record in the brand new Steemer Facility.
Stoll won three events on Saturday including the 200m and 400m dashes and was the lead-off runner in the 4x200m relay. He broke his own 200m record, running a time of 22.22 seconds, which betters his previous record set in 2019 by 0.03 seconds. In the 400m, Stoll clocked a time of 48.97 seconds which won the event by more than two seconds. Running alongside James Ervin II, Marques Johnson and Noah Paris, Stoll's relay team clocked in a winning time of 1:30.32 which edged Mount Union for the win. Stoll currently sits second in the 200m and 11th in the 400m in the NCAA standings.
Coleman smashed the Heidelberg long jump record which had previously stood for 35 years, set by Monica Scott in 1985. The freshman's top leap registered 18'-07.25" which was five inches longer than Scott's 18'-02.25" jump. Her jump was more than a foot longer than second place finisher and teammate Arinn Hayes. Coleman's measure also currently sits in a tie for third in the NCAA rankings for the 2019-20 season.
For Stoll, the weekly recognition is his third career award. For Coleman, the nod is the second of her freshman campaign.
