It’ll be “Some Enchanted Evening” when the Heidelberg University Symphonic Band, along with vocal and theatre students, present favorites from Rodgers and Hammerstein in “A Grand Night for Singing” Feb. 23-24 in Gundlach Theatre. Show time both nights is 7:30 p.m.
“A Grand Night for Singing” is a musical theatre revue featuring songs from some of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s lesser-known shows such as “Allegro” and “State Fair” as well as big hits from popular and beloved productions, including “Carousel,” “Oklahoma,” “The King and I,” “Cinderella” and “South Pacific.”
The Symphonic Band is under the direction of Jon Waters, director of bands and assistant professor of music education, at Heidelberg. Carol Dusdieker, director of the School of Music & Theatre, and Stephen Svoboda, assistant professor of theatre, are assisting.
