Last week, the Student Awards Ceremony celebrated our students and their academic achievements. Here are a few of the senior winners.
Karlie DiRuzza
Paul H. Hoernemann Award
This award honors a graduating student who exemplifies the characteristics of mind, body, and spirit to which Paul Hoernemann, '38, dedicated his own life: high ethical character, scholarship, proficiency in athletics and conspicuous loyalty to the spirit of Heidelberg University.
Greg Raimondo
Paul H. Hoernemann Award
In addition to receiving the Paul H. Hoernemann Award, Greg also received the Athletic Training Pride Award.
Bethany Beaver
Daniel J. & W.J.K. Snyder Prize
A cash prize awarded to a male and female senior by the faculty who have excelled during their four years at the University in leadership based upon character and scholarship.
Bethany also received the Arnold “Skip” Oliver Award and the Herman E. Sayger Award.
Colin Higgins
Daniel J. & W.J.K. Snyder Prize
Ernest and Martha Hammel Research Award - 1st Place
Colin also received the Arnold “Skip” Oliver Award, the Robert E. Oleson Outstanding Student Leader Award, and the Sayre Family Outstanding Senior in International Studies.
Summer Hunter-Kysor
Ernest and Martha Hammel Research Award - 2nd Place
Research Project: Los Desparecidos: A Lost Generation
Summer also gave opening remarks and received the Sayre Family Outstanding Senior in International Studies.
Courtney Arbogast
Ernest and Martha Hammel Research Award - 3rd Place
Research Project: Examining the Well-Being and Connectedness of Social Groups in College Students
Courtney was also named an Outstanding Senior in Criminal Justice.
