With the theme “Life is a Celebration,” the 50-member University-Community Chorus will perform its annual fall concert at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov., 4 at First Lutheran Church.
Conductor Dr. Greg Ramsdell has planned a program that underscores the role of the chorus as storytellers. “The chorus will explore the many roles that music plays in our lives, the role of music as a way of communicating life’s many beauties and a celebration of the joys of love,” he explained.
The concert repertoire includes the traditional spiritual, “Good News! The Chariot’s Comin’!” and George Gershwin’s “Stairway to Paradise.” Also included on the program will be an interpretation of Robert Frost’s famous poem “The Road Not Taken” and James Biery’s “Old Irish Blessing,” among other numbers. The accompanist is Cynthia Ramsdell.
The concert is free and open to the public.
