The campus community will celebrate the life and legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with several events throughout the month of January. This year's theme is Things That Matter, a reference to Dr. King's quote, "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
Here is a list of events in which members of the campus community can participate:
Sunday, Jan. 14
7-9 p.m.
Selma movie screening and Late Night Pancake Breakfast, Ubuntu Black Cultural House, 21 Circular Street. Co-sponsored by the Black Student Union.
Monday, Jan. 15
9 a.m.-noon
Martin Luther King Jr. Conference at Tiffin University, 155 Miami Street. The conference will feature breakout sessions by TU faculty and staff with personal and professional development opportunities, followed by a keynote address at 11 a.m. by TU grad and former NFL player Nate Washington.
1:30-4 p.m.
Annual Heidelberg/Tiffin University Collaborative Day of Service
5-7 p.m.
Still We Rise … Still We March: Seneca County Community Dinner, Faith United Methodist Church, 75 N. Sandusky St. RSVP to multicultural [at] heidelberg.edu by Friday, January 12. Keynote speaker: Dr. Celia Williamson, director of the Human Trafficking and Social Justice Institute at the University of Toledo. Sponsored by Tiffin/Seneca Martin Luther King Jr. Day Committee.
