Adjunct Instructors of Biology are needed to provide instruction to undergraduate students in the following course subjects: Genetics; Genetics Labs, Human Medical Genetics or Cancer Genetics. It is preferred that these courses are taught as seated courses on campus, but fully online or hybrid/hyflex options will also be considered.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
The Adjunct Instructor of Biology may supervise student workers in the department.
The Adjunct Professor of Biology will:
- Teach Genetics (BIO 224) and Genetics Labs (BIO 224L) and/or Human Medical Genetics (BIO 318) or Cancer Genetics (BIO 329) in the Fall 2022 semester.
- Utilize innovative and collaborative teaching methods in support of the Department’s mission and learning objectives.
- Perform other essential duties as assigned/as outlined in the Faculty Manual.
(A) Master’s Degree in Biology or a related field. ABD considered with degree completion before hire date.
(B) College-level teaching experience particularly in areas related to genetics.
- Ability to relate to a diverse cross-section of individuals.

TOOLS AN EQUIPMENT USED: Knowledge of operation and use of various office equipment including, but not limited to: personal computer, including spreadsheet and word processing software, integrated database software, fax machine, copier, telephone, scanner, and printers. A valid driver’s license may be required.
The following laboratory equipment is available for teaching labs and/or research projects: micropipettors, incubators, centrifuges, waterbaths, heat blocks, autoclave, -20 and -80 freezers, sets of compound and dissecting microscopes, digital microscopes, fluorescent research microscopes, thermal cyclers, agarose gel electrophoresis, and SDS PAGE equipment.
