Theatre Major
I chose Heidelberg because of the amazingly diverse Theatre Department. I loved the ability to work both as a performer and on tech elements and Heidelberg offered that!
I majored in Theatre because performing has always been a part of my life. My dad is a career musician and my mom loved theatre in high school and college and the theatre bug got transferred to me. I love making statements with art and music.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was personal doubts and career path worries, and I handled it by following my heart and making amazing art with my peers.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to handle any situation thrown my way and to roll with any punches.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Zeta Theta Psi, Alpha Psi Omega, Tri-Alpha Honors Society, Order of Omega, and Berg Allies.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was Zeta Theta Psi because I loved having a strong group of like-minded women behind me through my college journey.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Michael Shirtz. He was so influential specifically in my senior year about following my path and finding practical and logical ways to succeed in my arts career, and the advice and kind guidance he gave me is unmatched.
My advice to new freshman me would be to be ready for a lot of crazy things you won't know how to handle.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is getting to play a lead role in the musical "9 to 5" my sophomore year for the first audience we were allowed to have in over a year. The energy both from the audience and the performers was magical.
My plans after graduation are to stay at Heidelberg and work toward my MBA.
