Biology Major
I chose Heidelberg because of the high level of education all while being able to have one-to-one conversation with professors.
I majored in Biology because I want to be a Doctor.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was getting over being homesick, and I handled it by engaging with the community which supported my goals.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be a true professional.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Men’s Soccer, Student Senate (head of campus concerns), World student Union, Orientation Leader, Muslim Student Life Representative, Campus Security, interning as an Emergency Medicine Scribe, Nu Sigma Alpha, Tri-Beta and volunteering in Biloxi, Mississippi.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was interning at the Emergency Room as a Scribe because it made me love the medical field more.
Faculty or staff mentors or advisors who impacted my ‘Berg experience are Paul Stark and Julie Arnold because they made Heidelberg a home for me, not just a school.
My advice to new freshman me would be to get engaged, and remember if you don’t try to do something you never would know what could have been.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is watching my sister graduate at the end of my sophomore year. She was a Heidelberg senior then.
My plans after graduation are to attain a master’s in science and attain a medical degree.
