Health Science
I chose Heidelberg because Heidelberg felt like home. I saw how much the faculty and staff cared about their students and how much they wanted their students to succeed. The connections that I have made with my classmates and professors at Heidelberg are something that will last a lifetime.
I majored in Health Science because I saw the opportunities that the program offered. From the cadaver lab, animal lab, and all of the hands-on experiences throughout my four years, I feel prepared for my future career.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was time management and work-life balance and I handled it by talking to my advisor, Lauren McGraw, and asking her ways that I could keep track of all of my classes and homework assignments. She also reassured me that having a good work-life balance in college is key. She encouraged me to break out of my shell and get involved on campus.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be successful in my future career.
Outside of the classroom I was involved in Student Senate, worked as a Student Ambassador, and worked at a local ice cream shop called Ozzie's Little Hugo's.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was being a Student Ambassador because I got to connect with future Heidelberg students and tell them what I love most about Heidelberg.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my 'Berg experience is Lauren McGraw because ever since I was a freshman, she was always there for me. She not only helped me keep track of all of my classes, but was there for me when I needed advice inside and outside of the classroom.
My advice to new freshman me would be to take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way. You never know when a new door will open for you.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is the people that I have met and the connections that I have made along the way. The atmosphere of Heidelberg is something that I will never forget.
My plans after graduation are to attend the Master of Occupational Therapy Program at Walsh University. While attending the program at Walsh, I will be coaching JV volleyball at Tuslaw High School.
