Education Major
I chose Heidelberg because it felt like a close-knit community.
I majored in Education because I wanted to make an impact on future leaders of the world.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was finding out who I was as an individual and I handled it by trying any and everything I could.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to be ready for whatever comes my way.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in Nu Sigma Alpha (Roll Heid), Student Senate, BEC, Heidelberg’s Men Tennis, Delt Guy, HUCTM, Greek Life Council, It’s on Us Chemistry Club.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was being a Heid because no matter what we were doing, it was always going to result in a good time.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Jacqueline Sironen because she always encouraged me to be the best version of myself I could be. And she has a really cute dog, Shout-out to Bingley.
My advice to new freshman me would be to get involved. Don’t let what you came here to do limit you from all the things you could possibly do.
My favorite Heidelberg memory is welcoming the first-year students at Convocation two years in a row.
My plans after graduation are to attend graduate school to pursue a degree in Higher Education.
