I chose Heidelberg because when I had my visit, everyone was extremely outgoing and treated my family and I like we belonged here.
I majored in Health Science because I wanted to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, and am highly interested in the human body.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was overcoming social anxiety and homesickness and I handled it by surrounding myself with people I felt comfortable with and who pushed me outside of my comfort zone.
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to continue my future with more confidence inside and out of the classroom.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in soccer for one year, and the football team for two years as one of their managers.
My favorite extra-curricular activity was being a football manager because I was able to feel like part of the team and I made a lot of new lifelong friendships.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience was Dr. Jena Suffel because she had the role of being my professor, who helped me learn and succeed in the classroom, my advisor, who always checked in with me to guarantee I was on the right track, and she gave me multiple opportunities to use my knowledge in Orthopedic Anatomy to be her Teaching Assistant.
My advice to new freshmen would be to attend events, be social and try to make as many friends as possible.
My favorite Heidelberg memory was getting rowdy watching the 2019 baseball team sweep Wooster at home in the Super Regional game.
My plans after graduation are to attend Mount St. Joseph University for 3 years to get my Doctorate in Physical Therapy
