Mason Hainey
Business Administration, Class of 2020
My dad is a sports photographer back home. I hated him taking pictures of me when I was younger. He would always have his camera around and take pictures of me. My senior year of high school, I finally started to appreciate it. I saw all the pictures and really liked what he did with everything that year. So this year, he got a new camera and I asked for his old one. I thought it would be kind of cool. I started taking pictures and and it all grew on me little by little.
I love adventuring and being outdoors. I went on a trip with my friend who also does photography, Brennan Izzo, to North Captiva Island. I knew we were supposed to do some beach exploring so I decided to take my camera. That’s kind of when I fell in love with it.
I like anything with an adventure. You can label it as landscape photography, but it’s anything where I have to walk through this or climb up this to get to that. My photography allows me to be adventurous. It’s not something I want to make a living out of but maybe make a little money on the side with a hobby I love. It’s something fun to do and a way to document everything when I travel.
Why Heidelberg?
I was interested in Heidelberg because of the football program. When I noticed they had the PlusOneAdvantage Free MBA program, I was like, ‘I have to come here.’
Originally from Elkhart, Indiana, Mason is an offensive lineman on the Heidelberg football team. Majoring in Business Administration, he hopes to explore the marketing side of business after graduation.
