I chose Heidelberg because the campus felt the most welcoming out of all of the places that I visited. I really liked the smaller class sizes and the PlusOneAdvantage® MBA was very attractive since I was going to be a Business Administration major.
I majored in Business Administration - Finance because the business curriculum allowed me to take a variety of courses in different subjects such as management, economics and accounting while also being able to have a finance concentration.
A major challenge I encountered while at Heidelberg was the COVID-19 pandemic and I handled it by being flexible and open to change. This was a very overwhelming time for everyone, but luckily it seems as though we are finally almost through it!
Above all, Heidelberg prepared me to succeed in my future. In my time here, I've learned so much both inside and outside of the classroom. I'm confident that everything this school has offered will be of benefit to me as I start my professional career.
Outside of the classroom, I was involved in softball my freshman year, the Business Student Advisory Board and working at a local auto body shop!
My favorite extra-curricular activity was being a part of the Business Student Advisory because I enjoyed organizing events for our students that would help them with their future careers such as Dress for Success and Mock Interviews.
One faculty or staff mentor or advisor who impacted my ‘Berg experience is Scott Miller because he was always very supportive and helped me to become a better person both inside and outside of the classroom. He was both my accounting professor and my mentor for BSAB. He was always extremely supportive and his words of encouragement are something that I'll always remember!
My advice to new freshmen would be to enjoy every moment of the college experience. It may not always seem like it, but it will be over before you know it!
My favorite Heidelberg memory is meeting my best friend Clare freshman year. She's someone who I know will always be in my life and I never would have met her if it wasn't for Heidelberg.
My plans after graduation are to begin working at Edward Jones this summer and start Heidleberg's MBA Program in the fall!
