b'EnactusThe Heidelberg Chapter of Enactus has a sub-group called Enact-Gift whose entrepreneurial mission is to reduce inequalities, especially among children. They ran a winter clothing and food drive on November 20 that was well attended. The group consists of seven members co-led by students Olivia Dulay and Alayna Hahn. They managed the logistics of gathering clothing and food donations, promoting the event in the community and setting up a distribution shop at The University Commons.Students Shine in Pitch Competition Enact Gift EventSeven teams from Dr. Salil Khetanis MKT 345Professional Selling class participated in a Pitch Competition held at Tiffin University on December 12. Student teams had two minutes to pitch their idea for a product or service to a group of judges. Out of 15 teams (seven from Heidelberg University, five from Tiffin University, and three from Calvert High School), six proceeded to the second round, out of which three were from Heidelberg University. The team that pitched a tutoring center for school children, TT Center, comprised of Kaidan Mathias, Sophie Madison, Clemens Foos and Chelsea Tyson, placed 3rd and won a cash prize of $600. The team that pitched a sporting goods store, Seneca Sports Supply, comprised of3rd place team of Chelsea Tyson, Kaidan Mathias, Carter Magyarics, TK Fikes and Matt Drdul, placed 4th andClemens Foos and Sophie Madison.won a cash prize of $400. The joint event with Tiffin University (TU), started by Prof. Doug Woods in the fall of 2022, brings in accounting recruiters from CPA firms, businesses and state and federal government agencies.
