This program explores the ways composers use variation technique to create highly original musical works. Featured composers include Sweelinck, Bach, McConnell, Barber, Franck, and Alain.

Heidelberg Marching Band to Perform at Edison Invitational
Meet and greet fellow alumni, current Heidelberg director of bands Jon Waters and Heidelberg Marching Band members in conjunction with eight other northwest Ohio HS marching bands (four of which are led by 'Berg grads) competing in the Edison Invitational marching band competition.

On Friday, November 15, spend a day at Heidelberg University exploring music and theatre at the collegiate level. Whether you are thinking about majoring or minoring in music or theatre, or just continuing to play, sing and act, we will offer a unique look at the college experience.
“The Penguin Tango,” an original play written by Heidelberg University Theatre Director Stephen Svoboda, tackles gay relationships and the meaning of true family in the zany world of the Bremerhaven Zoo. Prior to its international premier at Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer, 1850 Productions is bringing the show to Gundlach Theatre for a single preview performance April 27.
We’re all familiar with the famous Longfellow quote, “Music is the universal language.” On April 6, Heidelberg University School of Music & Theatre professors Carol Dusdieker (soprano) and Cynthia Ramsdell (piano) will embellish the quote to “Music is the universal language for all ages” in their Children’s Concert at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, in Brenneman Music Hall.
The Heidelberg University Symphonic Band, under the direction of Jonathan Waters, will welcome the world-class Brass Band of Columbus as the guest artists for its spring concert at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Tiffin.
The high-energy choreography of the Hei-Notes, Heidelberg University’s show choir, will meet the sweet sounds of the Jazz Ensemble in a performance on the Gundlach Theatre stage at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22.
