Dr. Velasquiz is the adviser to Society of Physics Students & Sigma Pi Sigma, physics honorary. Outside of teaching he is also a professional photographer, mixed martial arts coach, and ballroom and Latin dance instructor. His is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism.
