Equipment in Saurwein Health & Wellness CenterGroup Fitness Programs

Pre-registration is required for select classes, please refer to the Group Fitness schedule. Registration can be done at the YMCA or online, there will be no in person registration conducted at the Saurwein Health and Wellness Center.

Saurwein Health and Wellness Center staff reserves the right to remove any class from the schedule due to repeated low attendance.

Class schedules may be adjusted for summer and winter breaks as well as recognized national holidays.

Participants must check in for all Group Fitness classes.

Personal Training Programs

Personal Training is a private, one-on-one session or may be done in pairs with a certified trainer. A personal trainer will design and implement an appropriate program based on the client’s needs and goals.

All Personal Training is required to be registered at the YMCA, training can take place at YMCA or at the Saurwein Health and Wellness Center. This is between the trainer and client.

  • Body Fit: Challenge your fitness level with interval cardio exercise & strength training. You will benefit from a 60 minute high intensity work-out, leaving your body fit from the inside-out. 1 hour - Rachel
  • Fit Kids Jr.: A smart and safe way for kids to improve overall health. Ages 10-12 years 45 min. - Ben
  • Fit Kids Sr.: Guidance in setting up an appropriate workout for the adolescent. 45 min. - Patty
  • Water Walking: Low impact walking exercises in the shallow end of the pool. 45 min. - Diana
  • Arthritis: YMCA/Arthritis Foundation water exercise program geared toward optimum joint health and flexibility. 45 min. - Diana
  • Fit 4 Life: Low impact aerobics for active older adults. 1 hour - Francine
  • Have a Seat: Exercise performed in a chair. A variety of equipment will be used. Class members will stand up for balance work. 45 min. - Francine
  • Moving to the Beat: A FUN way to get a great workout! Class members perform exercise moves while drumming on stability balls with drumsticks – to the beat of energetic music. 1 hour - Beth
  • Cardiotone: High Impact rhythmic movement that will elevate your heart rate! Finish the hour with a period of strength/toning and stretching. 1 hour - Shena
  • Challenge: Vigorous whole body workout that leaves you with a sense of accomplishment upon completion! 1 hour M: $50 PP:$100 PM - $40/$80 - Francine
  • Mid Morning Mix: A mix of cardio, toning, strength and endurance thrown into one fun-filled hour! - Nikki
  • Zumba: Rhythmic dance steps with attitude! 1 hour - Teri

  • Gentle Slow Yoga: Gentle exercise for inactive seniors, people suffering or recovering from injury, health problems, obesity or mobility issues. Includes mat exercises on the floor 1 ¼ hour M: $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Chair Yoga: Yoga poses in the chair. Class members will not be asked to go to the floor. 1 hour M: $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Beginner Hatha Yoga: Learn the basics of yoga. 1 ½ hour M: $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Hatha Yoga 1: A gentle form of Yoga, working to the edge of your own abilities. Hatha Yoga is a no pain practice. 1 ½ hour M $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Hatha Yoga 2: More advanced Yoga, requiring knowledge of moves and technique. Member will need home practice time. 1 ½ hour M: $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Beginner Vinyasa Flow Yoga: a teaching class that builds into an energetic combinations of rigorous poses. Ths class serves as a prerequisite to the Vinyasa Flow Yoga coming soon. 1 ½ hours M: $16 PP: $80 - Chuck
  • Pilates Blend: Strong on Pilates with a hint of Yoga. 1 hour M: $10 PP: $80 - Kim

  • Wet and Sweat: A great workout in either or both shallow and deep water. 1 hour - Rachel
  • Pre and Post Natal: A certified instructor leads ladies through safe and appropriate exercise for pregnancy and post natal. Babies are welcome! 45 min. - Jill
  • Step’s Back!: Rhythmic aerobic exercise using Rebok steps and risers for a challenging workout. 1 hour - Vicki
  • Y Berg Group Run: Enjoy the company of a group run while covering three or five miles – your choice! - Francine
  • Lunchtime Express: A sweat-less lunch time work out – use bands, weights, chairs and stretching. 30 minute - Chuck
  • Core and More: Learn how to engage, use and strengthen your core muscles. 45 minutes – Y-Katie; SW - Rachel
  • Aeroboxing: A high energy workout that uses upper and lower body boxing moves. Can be high or low impact. 1 hour - Jill
  • Cycling: Great cardio workout on the LeMond Indoor cycles. Suitable for any fitness level. 1 hour – T/Th – Carrie; M/W - Jana
  • Women on Weights: Strength training for wormen only! A great way to become more familiar with our Wellness Center. 1 hour M $10 PP $80 - Carrie
  • Last Chance Workout: Your last chance to get in a good workout before sleep! Meet at Heidelberg’s Saurwein Wellness Center for a great sweat. 1 hour - Ben
  • H2O Intense: An hour long water workout that will raise your heart rate and develop strength and endurance. 1 hour - Paul
  • All Weather Fitness: Tough the elements in an “always outside” workout! Appropriate dress for the weather is a must. 1 hour – Ben
