Intramurals at Heidelberg University began courtesy of Herman Sayger. In 1924, Sayger was selected as director of physical education and brought with him a complete program of intramural events.     events

Intramurals at Heidelberg provide all students an opportunity to participate in recreational sports. Students, faculty and alumni recognize intramural sports as an integral part of campus life. Participation in intramurals provides friendly competition, exercise and recreation.

The emphasis is on fun, not competition. Winning is not the primary goal but rather, the opportunity to exercise, develop leadership skills and meet new people are the greatest rewards of intramural sports.

Eligibility Students: All Heidelberg students who are registered for at least one credit hour may participate in intramural sports.

Faculty and Staff: Any current faculty, staff or adjunct faculty member may participate in intramural sports.

NOTE: All intramural participants must have a valid BERG ID intramural sports. BERG ID cards will be checked before EVERY intramural contest AND are required for entry into the Campus Recreation Center.
