The Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee is an appointed University Committee composed of faculty, staff, and students.
Its mission is:
- To insure the ongoing development, interpretation, dissemination and appropriate revision of the institutional diversity plan;
- To provide leadership, share ideas and offer information on institutional diversity initiatives; and to encourage, monitor and support administration, faculty, and staff in the efforts to maintain and develop programs in this area;
- To engage in both formative and summative research, data analysis, and evaluation to support these functions.
The Committee has limited funds available to support diversity related efforts planned by academic departments and student organizations. The Committee does not provide support for mileage and/or airfare costs. To request funds, please complete the Application for event funding and return it to the Dean of Student Affairs Office.
The Diversity and Inclusiveness Committee offers Strengthening Ties with Diverse Minds Grants to support scholarly research projects and other educational activities that assist in the development of educational projects, scholarly research, creative endeavors, and professional activities, which promote diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusiveness. To request funds, please complete the Strengthening Ties with Diverse Minds Grant Funding Request and return it to the provost Office Electronically.
