January Orientation is Tuesday, January 7, 2014
1:00pm - 4:30pm
All new, transfer, and adult students who will begin classes in Januray 2014 must attend this half day Orientation. Individuals involved in your academic success, such as parents, families, and partners, are welcome to attend Orientation. Light refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon. Review the checklist to ensure you have all the paperwork, forms, and information you'll need to start your Heidelebrg career off on the right foot!
Registering for Orientation
Once the enrollment fee is paid, prospective students are able to register for the orientation session by logging into OASIS2. There is no charge for students or guests to attend Orientation.
Residence Hall Move-In
For students moving into a residence hall, you will need to arrive on campus between 8:30am and 9:00am. You will need to obatin your necessary paperwork and key from the Office of Campus Life, located in Campus Center 2nd floor. You will have the morning to move into your room, but will need to report to Campus Center by 12:45pm for Orientation. You can resume unpacking once Orientation is over around 4:30pm.
Your housing assignment email (sent to your Heidelberg email account) will provide you information regarding your room assignment, roommate, and other resources that will help you get acclimated to Heidelberg University. Further information will be sent to your Heidelberg email account prior to your arrival with information on where to check-in before you move-in. Getting Involved at the Berg
Catch a brief overview of the many campus resources for academic support, career development, student activities, Greek Life, Intramurals, athletics, and service learning!
1:45 p.m. -2:30 p.m.
An overview of services offered in Residence Life, Campus Security, Information Technology, Parking, Commuter Services and meal plans.
2:30 p.m. – 2:45 p.m.
Take your picture for your student ID, turn in your health forms, locate your campus mailbox, and hit the bookstore
2:45 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Students will navigate the student portal, OASIS, to complete the registration process. The session will also provide general information about Heidelberg’s online billing system, when to expect your online bill, methods of payment, payment options, and how to receive a financial aid refund.
3:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Financial Aid and Work Study
In this session, you will be given an overview of how the financial aid process works, your rights and responsibilities as a financial aid or scholarship recipient, and the terms and conditions involved. Information on work study will also be provided.
Office Visits/Campus Tour/Orientation Check-out
Make sure to collect your HU Student ID from an Orientation Leader before you leave campus.
