Our campus connection to the Internet was interrupted from approximately 1:30 AM until 7:00 AM on Tuesday, November 13, 2012.
This kind of unanticipated outage by our middle-mile provider is very rare, but did interrupt all email, web browsing, and social network activity via computers on the campus network. It had no impact on mobile devices with 3G or 4G Internet access, of course.
Connectivity was restored by 7:00 am.
