Students: Activating your BergApps Account

BergApps Logo

Attention Heidelberg students and alumni with Heidelberg email accounts:  we're pleased to announce that your new BergApps account (Powered by Google) is ready!  Follow the steps below to activate and begin using your BergApps account!  In May 2011, we stopped delivery of email to your old Heidelberg email and began delivering solely to your new BergApps account; so, if you haven't activated your BergApps account, you should do so now.   (Guests of the university and any faculty and staff who have not yet made the transition:  we will contact you to begin your transition process.)

How to Activate your Student BergApps Account

1.  Change your NetID password using OASIS2.

To activate your BergApps account, you'll need to change your Heidelberg NetID password.  Do this by visiting the "My NetID Information" link under the Personal Information section of your secured OASIS2 access (http://oasis2.heidelberg.edu).

Note that your updated NetID password will become your password for all of the following services:

-BergApps
-Moodle
-Your ResNet / Cisco NAC Agent
-Your old BergMail account (for transition purposes)

2.  Log In and Get Started!

Once you've activated your account, you can log in to BergApps by visiting http://gmail.heidelberg.edu.  It's that easy!

3.  Learn More!

Start learning by checking out the resources at our BergApps Support Center (http://www.heidelberg.edu/bergapps-support-center).  There, you'll find pages of tutorials, Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), and training videos to help you make the most out of this new system.

We recommend you view this transition as an opportunity to start with a "clean slate" and a relatively empty inbox in BergApps.  However, if you wish to migrate old mail from your BergMail inbox, you can do so.  Look for our instructions for transferring your old mail at our BergApps Support Center.

We are excited about this transition and hope that you will find this suite of tools useful for organizing, communicating, collaborating, and reaching new levels of productivity.
