Principles of Teaching Seminar: Middle Childhood
This course builds on EDU 220 giving special emphasis to the middle child. As the middle child is unique in their development, emphasis in the course will consider the appropriate classroom and school environment suitable for the middle child. Particular attention will be paid to how team teaching, exploratory programs, integrated units and pastoral care are considered essential elements of an effective middle school. A field experience is required. Prerequisite: 2.75 GPA, C- or higher in PSY 101 and EDU 200, 207. Corequisite: EDU 220.
