A study of the role of government in a market economy including market efficiency and failure, and government provision of public goods and remediation of externalities. Additional topics include: the application of cost-benefit analysis to governmental programs and an examination of both the expenditure and revenue components of the public sector budget. Prerequisites: ECO 251 and 252 and Junior standing.
