Dr. Weininger has spent his entire professional career in education. He began his career as a seventh-grade mathematics teacher in the Big Walnut School District, Sunbury, Ohio. His interest in mathematics lead him to pursue a Ph.D. in mathematics and a career as a mathematics professor at Heidelberg beginning in 1985. While at Heidelberg, he became increasingly involved in administrative work, and in 2007, he became the Vice President for Academic Affairs. In 2008, his title was changed to Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost.
Dr. Weininger is a member of the Mathematical Association of America, the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators and the American Conference of Academic Deans. Dr. Weininger serves the greater higher education community as a member of the Peer Review Corps for the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. In this capacity, he serves as a member of a team that evaluates colleges and universities as part of the process institutions go through to maintain their accreditation.
Dr. Weininger finds service to his community to be a rewarding experience and is an active member in the Tiffin Rotary Club. He enjoys playing golf when his schedule allows and is also an avid fly fisherman. His interest in fly fishing includes tying flies and building fly rods. Dr. Weininger and his wife, Lynda, enjoy living the country lifestyle in their home outside Tiffin.
