The Director of The Heidelberg Fund & Alumni Engagement is an administrative level leadership position. The position will develop and implement strategies to ensure the success and growth of a $1M+ comprehensive annual giving program. This position will lead all annual giving tasks including development marketing strategies, personal visits, supporting fundraising planning efforts, work with volunteers and students, and evaluating solicitation outcomes and researching tactics. The position reports to the Executive Director of Development, Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and qualifications, including:

  • A thorough knowledge of institutional advancement and university relations work including alumni / volunteer management, fundraising and campaign strategies.
  • Skill in annual unrestricted or restricted giving programs.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional motivation and creativity.
  • Ability to develop and present well-developed strategies, proposals, and implement effective courses of action in prospect solicitation.

In addition, the ideal candidate will model Heidelberg University’s core values of integrity, honesty, humility, transparency, respectfulness, diversity, caring, loyalty, and accountability in all work. The successful candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree complemented by two (2) to three (3) years of successful experience in a university development operation. Integrated database experience is highly desirable.
