Athletic Training The Athletic Training Department within the Division of Health Sciences at Heidelberg University is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to fill a full-time (non-tenure track) 10-month split-position. The position reports to the Chair of AT with supervision by the Head Athletic Trainer clinically. The Athletic Training Department includes clinical sports medicine services, the CAATE accredited ATEP and the Health Sciences major.
Minimum Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills in all settings
- Providing athletic training services to athletic teams as assigned
- Supervising Athletic Training Students during clinical assignments as a preceptor
- Teaching coursework as assigned by the Chair of AT
- Serving as a member of the Heidelberg University Faculty
- Evening, weekends, travel, and some heavy lifting are required
- Other duties as assigned by the Chair of AT
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE accredited ATEP
- BOC® certification with a minimum of two years of experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer
- State of Ohio licensure OR eligibility (required prior to start date)
- Professional Rescuer Certification from the ARC or AHA
- NATA member in good standing without disciplinary actions from a state or national regulatory body
- Master’s Degree from an accredited institution
- Desire to teach and serve as a preceptor to ATEP students
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Athletic Training, Health Sciences, Kinesiology or related field
- Experience as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with collegiate sports
- Previous teaching experience in an ATEP
- Previous experience as a preceptor to ATEP students
- Current NSCA CSCS certification or a related credential from the ACSM
- Instructor certification for AHA or ARC
- Experience with creating or delivering online or hybrid instruction
