Getting started when Off-Campus
You must have a current Heidelberg ID in order to use the Research Databases. Use the ID to identify yourself as a Heidelberg student. Your name and the barcode on your campus or Beeghly Library ID identify you. (Include the letter at the end of the barcode number, if there is one--i.e. 5000001234X or 22107001234X)
*Contact your program director if you did not receive an ID card

How to Find Full-Text Online Articles
Many databases provide the full-text or complete article by providing a link to the content. The full-text link often appears at the top of the bibliographic citation, or near the bottom of the entry. Look for a link or button that says: Full Text, PDF Full Text, HTML Full Text, and OLinks Find a Copy. From “OLinks Find a Copy” look for a highlighted message such as “Full text of this article at EBSCO” or “Full text of this article at EJC” and click the highlighted link to go to the text from there.
If a Full-Text link is Not Provided
The Electronic Journal Finder: type the name of the journal, then select the database that includes the date or volume number for the article you need
Interlibrary Loan
If you cannot locate an online copy of the article you can fill out an Interlibrary Loan Periodical Article Request form and the library will provide a copy from its print journal collection, or will send for a copy from another library. If the article can be scanned it will be sent electronically. Interlibrary loan can take from a few days up to two weeks to arrive, so plan accordingly.
