An audition is a required part of the admission process for all students planning to major in music at Heidelberg. The same published audition dates are also available for talented non-majors who wish to perform with our University ensembles;special scholarship awards exist for these individuals as well. An audition serves as a means of assessing your probability of success, and allows for the awarding of music scholarships.
An audition at Heidelberg will include:
• Performance of music you have prepared. (You may audition in more than one performance area.)
• Interview with faculty
• (Music Majors Only) Musicianship test. This is given on all audition days; other times are available by appointment.
For more information, including registration forms for auditions, please consult the audition information page on our School of Music website:
www.heidelberg.edu/academiclife/depts/music/audition. Music majors must complete the piano assessment form; this is an optional form for non-majors.
If you have a conflict with our published audition dates, please contact us! We will do our best to find an alternative date/time for you. Please note that auditions for all music scholarships must be completed by the end of February for full consideration.
