DELAWARE, Ohio – Senior Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) won one event and finished third twice to vault the Heidelberg University women’s track and field team to a fifth place finish at the All-Ohio Champions on Saturday. The men’s track and field team finished 16th.
Bevington edged out Otterbein’s Abbey Grey by .05s in the 100m hurdles to take first. She finished with a time of 15.11s.
In the long jump, Bevington leapt into third place with a jump of 5.36m. A triple jump of 10.65m was good for second place, as well.
Mary Beth Boyden (Sheridan/Somerset) took third in the shot put with a throw of 12.27m. Teammate Madison Haasz (Canton/Jackson) grabbed fourth place finishes in shot (12.02m) and javelin (32.23m).
For the men, Gage Falcone (Fairview Park/Fairview) finished third in the discus (46.04m). Robert Taw (Sheffield/Brookside) threw the javelin 54.49m, good for third place.
The teams will return to action on Friday at the John Carroll University Night Meet.
