Claremont, California- The Heidelberg University Men’s and Women’s teams were well represented at the 2012 NCAA Track & Field Championships on May 24-May 26.
Junior Josh Lynch (Dayton/Meadowdale) had a personal best triple jump of 48’ 7.5’’ (14.82m), landing him in 8th place.
Junior Nate Davis (Dayton/Stivers) also had a successful day in high jump, as he cleared 6’ 9’’ (2.06m), good for 7th place respectfully.
Senior Joe Yoder (West Liberty/ West Liberty Salem) ended his collegiate career with an 8th place finish in the 400 hurdles, where he clocked a time of 52.67.
Junior Marian Bevington (Celina/Parkway) placed 8th in the long jump with a jump of 19’ 0.5’’ (5.80m) and also placed 10th in the 100 hurdles, with a personal best time of 14.32.
All American honors are given to the top 8 athletes in each event at the NCAA Championships. The NCAA invites the top 20 men and top 22 women in each event to compete at the championships each year.
“I am so amazingly proud of these four athletes,” said coach Briana Hess. “Four All-American honors, four podium appearances, and four very proud coaches. What a great way to end the season. It couldn’t have happened to four more deserving student-athletes!”
