Toledo, Ohio. – May 7, 2011 – The Heidelberg University women’s track and field teams, under the guidance of first-year head coach Bri Shook, participated in the unscored 27th Annual Toledo Invitational on Thursday and Friday hosted by the University of Toledo.
Marian Bevington (Celina, Ohio / Parkway) recorded a leap of 18.37’ in long jump for third place.
Aailyah VanLeer (Cleveland Heights, Ohio / Cleveland Heights) earned a toss of 40.62 in shot put, while Venessa Haase (Miamisburg, Ohio / Miamisburg) represented the Berg in javelin with a throw of 92.39’.
In the track events, Alexis Goodman (Tiffin, Ohio / Columbian) earned third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.64, while Jazmine Shaw (Columbus, Ohio / Hamilton Township) followed with a 59.28 mark in the 400-meter dash.
The 4x100-meter relay team, consisting of Bevington, Goodman, Shaw, and Samantha Fillilater (Fostoria, Ohio / Lakota), crossed the finish line at 49.28.
Next up for the Berg is the Dr. Keeler Invite on May 13-14 in Naperville, Ill.
