Bevington Ready for First Taste of Nationals

May 25, 2010 – Berea, Ohio – Freshman Marian Bevington (Celina, Ohio / Parkway) will represent Heidelberg University women’s outdoor track and field team at the Division III Outdoor Track and Field Nationals hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College on May 27-29.

Bevington has continued to improve in long jump improve over the year. Going into in the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships, she had a season’s best jump of 17'8. At conference she went 18-03.00, a week later she jumped 18'7, then 18'10.5.

She came back this past weekend at the Gregory Invitational and jumped 19'2.5. She has continued to develop her technique and she plans on getting better and better every meet. Second-year head coach Keith Roberts Jr. is impressed by Bevington’s desire to perform better every outing. "For her to continue to rise up and set personal records every week is amazing," Roberts said.
