Another Week, Another Top Outing

Tiffin, Ohio – May 13, 2010 - Coming on strong as the 2010 outdoor track and field season is coming to a close has been freshman Marian Bevington (Celina, Ohio / Parkway) of the Heidelberg University track and field team.

Over the course of the last three weeks she has reached new heights, both on the track and in the field. At the OAC Championships three weeks back she set personal bests in each of her first three leaps into the long jump pit and found herself on the NCAA Division III provisional list.

Last weekend at the University of Toledo, she improved her provisional qualifying jump, while also moving atop the Heidelberg record book in the 100-meter hurdles.

And now it’s another week for Bevington and she has strived to improve her provisional mark in the long jump and did not disappoint. At the Tiffin Twilight Meet on Wednesday, May 12, she took home top honors in the long jump with a leap of 18’10.5”, which is a provisional qualifying mark and a personal best.

Aside from her performance in the long jump at the Tiffin Twilight Meet, Bevington was third in the high jump, clearing 5’0.25”.

Bevington will look to continue to improve over the course of the next two weeks before the NCAA Division III Championships which are slated for May 27-29 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.
