TIFFIN, Ohio—Otterbein University defeated the Heidelberg University women’s tennis team, 6-0, today in a rain-halted Ohio Athletic Conference match in Tiffin, Ohio. Three singles matches were suspended due to the weather, but Otterbein already took six matches two secure the win.
Freshman Katie Strahan (West Chester/Lakota East) and senior Jackie Earl (Crestline) were both winning in the first set of No. 3 and No. 4 singles before play was halted.
Heidelberg will wrap up the regular season Saturday when it faces John Carroll University at 1 p.m. The 2012 OAC Women’s Tennis Tournament will be held on May 1, 4 and 5. The eight-team bracket will be held on campus sites on May 1 before moving to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason for the semifinals and finals rounds.
