TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team will host the University of Mount Union in Ohio Athletic Conference match Saturday in Tiffin, Ohio. The match against is slated for 1 p.m.
Heidelberg (5-7, 3-2 OAC) is coming off a 7-2 loss Tuesday at Baldwin-Wallace College. Despite the loss, freshman Katie Strahan (West Chester/Lakota East) and sophomore Jackie Earl (Crestline) won matches at Nos. 3 and 4 singles.
Through 12 matches, Strahan leads the team in singles play with an 8-4 overall and 4-1 OAC record at the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 positions, while Earl is 7-5 overall and 4-1 in the OAC at Nos. 3 and 4.
The doubles tandem of senior Kayla Gerber (Clyde) and sophomore Deidre Potter (Chillicothe) have posted the team’s best doubles record at 7-5 overall and 3-2 in the OAC.
Mount Union (10-6, 3-3 OAC) has won four of its last seven matches following a 9-0 sweep Tuesday of Capital University. No. 4/5 singles player Courtney Adamsky boasts the Purple Raiders’ best record at 12-4 overall and 3-3 in the OAC, while the team of Hannah Arvidson and Mandy Wise is 10-6 overall and 3-3 in the OAC in doubles action.
Following Saturday’s match, Heidelberg will host Otterbein University on Wednesday in the final home match of the season.
