TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team, after nearly a week lay-off from the court, will host The College of Wooster on Tuesday in a non-conference match at 3:30 p.m. in Tiffin, Ohio. The Berg is looking for its second straight win.
Heidelberg (3-4, 1-0 Ohio Athletic Conference) last played Wednesday, sweeping an OAC match from Capital University in Bexley. Senior Jackie Earl (Crestline) and freshman Katie Strahan (West Chester/Lakota East) lead the Tri-Color. Earl is 4-3 overall in Nos. 3 and 4 singles action, while Strahan has a team-best 5-2 record at the Nos. 3, 4 and 5 positions.
Senior Kayla Gerber (Clyde) and sophomore Deidre Potter (Chillicothe) lead the doubles tandems with a 4-3 record at the No. 1 position.
Wooster (2-11) has lost seven straight matches, including a sweep Saturday at Ohio Northern University. Rachel Dietz leads the team in singles play with a 5-7 record, while Lauren Gilliss and Ashley Stockwell are 4-1 in doubles play.
Following Tuesday’s match, Heidelberg will travel to New Concord for an OAC match Monday, April 9 against Muskingum University.
