Women’s Tennis Opens Spring Slate Saturday Against Adrian

TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team will open the spring portion of its 2011-12 schedule Saturday, Feb. 25 when it hosts Adrian (Mich.) College in a non-conference match at Lakewood Racquet Club in Lexington, Ohio at 1 p.m.

In its lone match of the fall, Heidelberg swept Bluffton College, 9-0, and enter Saturday’s match 1-0.

The Berg’s spring schedule opens with five straight non-conference match-ups, including four in Hilton Head, S.C. from March 13-15. Following Saturday’s match against Adrian, Heidelberg will face Nazareth (N.Y.) College, Olivet (Mich.) College, Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology and Messiah (Pa.) College in South Carolina.

After returning to Ohio, the Tri-Color will open Ohio Athletic Conference action at Capital University (March 24) before hosting Wilmington College (March 31). Heidelberg will briefly step out of conference when it hosts The College of Wooster (April 3) before closing the season with seven straight OAC match-ups, including home contests against Ohio Northern University (April 11), Marietta College (April 14), the University of Mount Union (April 21) and Otterbein University (April 21) and road matches at Muskingum University (April 6), Baldwin-Wallace College (April 17) and John Carroll University (April 28).

The 2012 OAC Women’s Tennis Tournament is slated for April 1-5 at the Linder Family Tennis Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.
