Tiffin, Ohio – March 24, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team held their first home match of the spring season today against Wooster College. The ladies fell to the Fighting Scots, 8-1. Heidelberg’s record falls to 3-5 overall as Wooster improves to 3-6.
Picking up the solo win for the ‘Berg was Jackquelyn Earl (Crestline, Ohio / Crestline) in the fifth singles position. Earl topped her opponent in two sets by a score of (6-4, 6-2) to earn her fifth singles victory this season.
Pushing her match into three sets for the ‘Berg was Emily Naugle (Shelby, Ohio / Shelby). After losing her first set, Naugle, came back to take the second and forced a third set tiebreaker (6-2, 5-7, 10-5).
The ‘Berg returns to OAC action Saturday, March 27, as they host Mount Union at 1:00 p.m.
