Hilton Head, S.C. – March 7, 2010 – The Heidelberg University women’s tennis team began their spring trip matches today and took on nonconference opponent the Emory & Henry College. The Berg improves to 2-1 on the year after winning 5-4. EMC drops to 3-5 on the year.
In doubles, sophomores Kayla Gerber (Clyde, Ohio / Clyde) and Darcy Young (Green Springs, Ohio / Clyde) were victorious (8-3), while juniors Emily Naugle (Shelby, Ohio / Shelby) and Jackie Earl (Crestline, Ohio / Crestline) captured a 8-2 win.
Gerber (6-3, 6-4), Naugle (6-0, 6-1), and Earl (6-3, 3-0 (default)) also earned solo victories.
The Berg continues their spring break matches Tuesday, March 9, against Westminster College.
