'Berg Tennis Nets Three All-OAC Honors AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Three members of the Heidelberg University tennis team earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference recognition for their outstanding play on the court this year. Freshman Sofey Fugate (Cincinnati/Lakota East) was named to the second team. Fugate finished the season with a 10-5 record in singles play and 8-8 in doubles. Fugate spent most of the season at second singles. For the men’s team, Clifford Goetz (Oak Harbor) and Zachary Schwenning (Barberton) were named honorable mentions. At first singles, Goetz compiled a 5-14 record. Schwenning went 15-6 at second singles. As doubles partners, Goetz and Schwenning finished the season 11-8. Heidelberg tennis is coached by the venerable Jerry McDonald. |
