TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team will again go on the road when it plays The College of Wooster on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 4:30 p.m. at Cindy Barr & Carl Dale Field. The Berg opened the 2011 season with three consecutive road matches before defeating Defiance College, 2-0, Saturday (Sept. 10) for its first shutout of the season.
In its last match, Heidelberg (2-2) constantly pressured the Defiance defense, outshooting the Yellow Jackets, 11-9, and out-cornering them, 3-2.
Sophomore forward Aleseya Evans (Troy) and senior midfielder Jennifer Pfau (Lewis Center/Olentangy) scored goals in the 65th and 71st minutes, respectively, while junior goalkeeper Molly Schriber (Sidney) made six saves in all 90 minutes of action. Schriber has not allowed a goal in 135 minutes in the net this season.
Wooster enters the match with a 3-2 record and is led by Erin Davison with three goals and Michele Ring, who has allowed seven goals and made 19 saves while tallying 450 minutes.
Despite playing four of its first five matches on the road, the Berg will return to Tiffin looking forward to playing six of its next eight inside the friendly confines of Mayer Field.
