Heidelberg Women's Soccer Team Loses To Grove City (Pa.), 3-0

GROVE CITY, Pa.—The Heidelberg women’s soccer team lost a non-conference match today at Grove City (Pa.) College, 3-0, at College Field in Grove City, Pa. The match was the last of a season-opening three-match road trip for the Berg.

With the loss, Heidelberg falls to 1-2. The Wolverines improved to 2-0.

Heidelberg penetrated a stout Grove City defense for five shots on goal, but was unable to capitalize.

Michelle Stevens, Leah Wilt and Shannon Bishop each scored Wolverine goals.

Three ‘Berg goaltenders combined to make 12 saves. Junior Molly Schriber (Sidney) received her first start between the pipes this season and made four saves during the first half. Sophomore Brittany Labry (Aurora/Twinsburg) made four saves and allowed three goals in 23 minutes of action. Freshman Natalie Wolfe (Columbus/Madison Plains) played the remaining 23 minutes in goal and made four saves of her own.

The Berg will return to Tiffin for its home opener on Saturday when it hosts Defiance College at 7 p.m. at Mayer Field.
