TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University women’s soccer team will look to get back on the winning track Tuesday when it takes on Grove City (Pa.) College at 4 p.m. at College Field in Grove City, Pa.
The Berg opened the 2011 season over Labor Day weekend with a 1-1 record, which included a 2-1 nail biting win Saturday (Sept. 3) at Albion (Mich.) College. In that contest, senior midfielder Kristen Schneider (Evendale/Mount Notre Dame) scored the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to send Heidelberg to a 2-1 victory.
Junior midfielder Makenzie Dunford (Ontario, Canada/Orangeville District Section) also scored a goal and provided Schneider with the assist, and has a team-leading three points through the season’s first two games.
Grove City is 1-0 following a 5-0 win against D’Youville (N.Y.) College, in which the Wolverines scored four first-half goals.
Following its match at Grove City, the Berg will return to Tiffin, where it will play its home opener on Saturday, Sept. 10 at Mayer Field at 7 p.m.
