Three Voted to All-OAC Team

Austintown, Ohio – November 11, 2010 - Three members of the Heidelberg University women’s soccer team were recognized with postseason accolades by the Ohio Athletic Conference, as voted by league coaches.

Freshman midfielder Kelsey Hogan (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mariemont) earned a spot on the All-OAC Second Team, while junior midfielder Kristen Schneider (Cincinnati, Ohio / Mount Notre Dame) and sophomore defender Michelle Gross (Centerville, Ohio / Centerville) were named to the All-OAC Honorable Mention Team.

Hogan made an immediate impact on field in her rookie campaign. She led the team with 22 points courtesy of ten goals and two assists, while starting in every game for the Berg. She also led in shots (77) and shots on goal (28).

Schneider, earning All-OAC honors for the first time of her career, was second on the team with 18 goals, including seven goals and four assists. She also led the team with four game winners on the year.

Rounding out the OAC winners is Michelle Gross. This marked her first All-OAC honors in her career. Gross was the mainstay on Heidelberg’s defense throughout the season.

The 2010 season showed promise for the Berg's future. Heidelberg’s nine wins marks the most under fifth-year head coach Nick Spell since he took over in 2006.
