OLIVET, Michigan - With a dual match against Ohio Northern to decide the OAC champion looming on Tuesday, Heidelberg University wrestling traveled to Olivet College for a Friday night dual. Olivet defeated Heidelberg 33-6. BOX SCORE
Using a lineup with several substitutions, Heidelberg won two weight classes.
Delian Schneider (Tiffin/Columbian) continued his impressive season at 125. He defeated Henry McKeown 11-9 to give Heidelberg a 3-0 lead.
The Comets won the next five matches, including two pins and a major decision.
At 174, Jeremy Stepp (Cincinnati/Princeton) put another three points on the board for Heidelberg. Stepp defeated Connor Sharp, 8-4.
Olivet would win the final three bouts. 184 Richard Dowdley (Cleveland/Ginn Academy) and 285 Nino Majoy (Huron) both lost close matches, 3-2 and 2-1.
The loss drops Heidelberg to 10-8 in dual matches this season.
On Tuesday, the Student Princes host Ohio Northern in the final OAC dual of the season. With a win, Heidelberg would force a three-way tie for the OAC crown. Ohio Northern can win the title outright with a win or a tie.
The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
