‘Berg Grapplers to Complete at Citrus Open in Ft. Lauderdale

TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University wrestling team will end a nearly two-week layoff when it travels to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. to compete in the Citrus Open on Thursday and Friday, Dec. 29-30.

The Student Princes (2-5) last competed on Dec. 15 when they fell to The College of Mount St. Joseph, 21-19, after a comeback attempt in the last three matches fell short. Sophomore 125-pounder Delian Schneider (Tiffin/Columbian), sophomore 141-pounder Chris Osborne (McComb), sophomore 184-pounder Jason Russell (Columbus/West), and junior 197-pounder Andy Lovins (Clinton Township, Mich./Lake Shore) and senior 285-pounder Jerry Knapp (Columbia Station/Olmsted Falls) each recorded victories against the Lions.

Following its return to Tiffin, Heidelberg will open Ohio Athletic Conference action by hosting John Carroll University on Jan. 10 at 7:30 p.m.
