Tiffin, Ohio – October 5, 2010 – First-year head coach Nathan Shearer has announced the release of the Heidelberg University wrestling team’s 2010-11 schedule. The Berg will embark on a season that consists of six tournaments and nine duals, highlighted by six Ohio Athletic Conference matches.
Starting things off for the Berg will be a dual at Olivet College in Olivet, Mich. on Nov. 9. A couple weeks later Heidelberg will return north to Olivet for the annual Olivet Duals Nov. 20.
The month of December begins with the Ohio Northern Invitational on the fourth before the Berg resumes its dual schedule with a trip to North Central College in Naperville, Ill.
January opens with two tournaments, the NWCA National Duals (Jan. 8-9) and the Budd Whitehill Tournament (Jan. 14-15) before starting its OAC dual slate. Wilmington College (Jan. 18) is the first on the list of two straight home meetings with OAC foes. Muskingum University concludes that two match home swing on Jan. 25. A trip to Wheaton, Ill. for the Pete Wilson Invite January 28-29 closes out January.
The University of Mount Union visits Heidelberg on Feb. 1 prior to Heidelberg traveling for four consecutive duals to close out the year. On the travel list is Ashland University (Feb. 5) followed by OAC duals at Baldwin-Wallace College (Feb. 8), Ohio Northern University (Feb. 15) and John Carroll University (Feb. 18).
On Feb. 26 Heidelberg will look to claims its sixth consecutive OAC Tournament title when it travels to ONU.
