TIFFIN, Ohio—The Heidelberg University wrestling team returns to the mat Saturday, Dec. 3 when it competes the Ohio Northern University Invitational in Ada, Ohio at 9 a.m.
The Berg last competed two weeks ago at the Olivet (Mich.) College duals, where it posted a 2-2 record, including wins over Trine (Ind.) University and Alma (Mich.) College. Sophomore 184-pounder Jason Russell (Columbus/West), despite wrestling in the 197-pound weight class, went 4-0, including a pin and a technical fall.
Through four events to start the 2011-12 campaign, Heidelberg, under first-year head coach Ned Shuck, is 2-3 in dual matches and has finished 20th in two tournaments wrestling a large portion of its matches against Division I competition.
Following Saturday’s ONU Invitational, the Berg hosts Division II foe Ashland University in a dual meet on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
